Dr. John Wang, S.E.
President

     Dr. John Wang, S.E. is the founder and president of Midwest Structure Engineering, Inc. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. degree from the Civil Engineering Department of Marquette University in 1992. Prior to his graduation, he began his engineering career with Precast Engineering Company in Wisconsin in 1990. In 1999, as a chief engineer overseeing all engineering operations for the company, Dr. Wang decided to launch his own engineering firm, Midwest Structure Engineering, Inc.

     Dr. Wang’s experience with precast concrete design is extensive. He has been involved in designing over 200 parking structures and many other precast projects such as stadiums, high rise precast hotels, and insulated industrial warehouse buildings. Some of the highlights of his work include the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois, Midwest Express Convention Center in downtown Milwaukee, Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin, Children’s Hospital parking structure in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Waldron parking structure at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

     David “Dutch” first became familiar with Precast Concrete while working his high school and college summers at his father’s company PreCon.  Later, he worked in the Quality Control Department at Spancrete while obtaining his second degree.  After graduation in February of 1979, he went to work at J.W. Peters Engineering Department.  During his 25-plus years of experience, he became knowledgeable about all aspects of the Precast/Prestressed Construction Process.

     Dutch has worked on virtually all types of precast construction, including numerous parking structures, office facilities, sports stadiums, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and hotels. A few highlighted projects in Dutch’s portfolio include: The Packers’ Lambeau Field Stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin, The Brewers’ Miller Park, The Midwest Express Convention Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and The Bears’ Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago, Illinois.
